Most of us would say we want to be more grateful, but why is it so difficult? Maybe we could be more grateful if we had more or if the situations in our lives got a little easier. But what if one simple mindset shift could change how you view what you have and what you don’t and allow you to be more grateful all year long regardless of what you’re facing.

Types of mindsets people have: Scarcity vs Abundance

Your ability to be the faith-filled generous, life changing, positive influence in the world may be determined by which mindset you have.

I’ve always known THREE THINGS: (YOU MUST KNOW)

  • God loves me,
  • God will give me what I need
  • God wants me to grateful right now,

  1. GOD LOVES YOU AND HE’S FOR YOU

[I Timothy 2:3-4]

“This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.”

‭‭

[Zephaniah 3:17]

“For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

[Matthew 7:9-11]

“You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.”

2. GOD WILL GIVE ME WHAT I NEED

[2 Corinthians 9:8]

“And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.”

[Psalm 84:10-11]

“A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the homes of the wicked. For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.”

Maybe what God wants for you right now is to what him MOST right now, so he’s removing everything else getting in the way.

3. GOD WANTS ME TO BE GRATEFUL RIGHT NOW

If I believe that God loves me and has already given me what I NEED…I can be grateful with what I have and where I’m at right now

[1 Thessalonians 5:18]

“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”

[Ephesians 3:20]

“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.”

[Hebrews 12:2]

““We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.”

The JOY is on the other side. Your confidence in that, is how you find gratitude where you’re at.

“When you believe that God is good, even when life is not, you find the capacity to be grateful for what you have and where you’re at.”

[Psalm 34:1]

“I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises.”

‭‭[Psalm ‭35:18]

“Then I will thank you in front of the great assembly. I will praise you before all the people.”

[Psalm 109:30]

“But I will give repeated thanks to the Lord, praising him to everyone.”

Whether you have a lot or little, you have a good God who sees your right now.

He loves you, he’s got his hand on you, and you can be extremely grateful for where you’re at and what you have
