BIG POINT: You may miss the purpose for which you were created if you miss the value packed into every social interaction you have on a daily basis.

Why is this so important? I want to give you 3 Reasons

#1 EVERY PERSON IS CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD

[Genesis 1:26]

“Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the
earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.”

[Genesis 2:7]

“Then the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breath of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.”

We marvel at the stars and galaxies but so often overlook people. Maybe we’ve got it backward.

You will never look into the eyes of someone that God does not love as much as he loves you.

#2 EVERY PERSON IS AS VALUABLE AS ANY PERSON

[1 Samuel 16:5-11]

““Yes,” Samuel replied. “I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Purify yourselves and come with me to the sacrifice.” Then Samuel performed the purification rite for Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice, too. When they arrived, Samuel took one look at Eliab and thought, “Surely this is the Lord’s anointed!” But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” Then Jesse told his son Abinadab to step forward and walk in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, “This is not the one the Lord has chosen.” Next Jesse summoned Shimea, but Samuel said, “Neither is this the one the Lord has chosen.” In the same way all seven of Jesse’s sons were presented to Samuel. But Samuel said to Jesse, “The Lord has not chosen any of these.” Then Samuel asked, “Are these all the sons you
have?” “There is still the youngest,” Jesse replied. “But he’s out in the fields watching the sheep and goats.” “Send for him at once,” Samuel said. “We will not sit down to eat until he arrives.””

Value doesn’t come from what they can do for you, but on whose image they bear.

#3 EVERY PERSON NEEDS TO KNOW THEY HAVE VALUE

[Luke 19:5-7]

“When Jesus came by, he looked up at Zacchaeus and called him by name. “Zacchaeus!” he said. “Quick, come down! I must be a guest in your home today.” Zacchaeus quickly climbed down and took Jesus to his house in great excitement and joy. But the people were displeased. “He has gone to be the guest of a notorious sinner,” they grumbled.”
