There are things in life that require regular maintenance in order to avoid needed repairs and costly consequences. The same is true in your spiritual life. Today, we see what thing can act like spiritual check engine lights, letting us know what things need additional work and attention before they become much bigger issues.

MESSAGE NOTES

2 Corinthians 13:5 — Examine yourselves to see if your faith is genuine. Test yourselves. Surely you know that Jesus Christ is among you; if not, you have failed the test of genuine faith.

James 1:22-24 —But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. 23For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. 24You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like.

Lamentations 3:40 — Instead, let us test and examine our ways. Let us turn back to the Lord.

Psalm 119:59-60 — I pondered the direction of my life, and I turned to follow your laws. I will hurry, without delay, to obey your commands.

1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.

Act 2:41. Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day—about 3,000 in all.

Romans 10:9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.  Matt 28:19-20

Act 2:45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need.

Act 2:44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had.

Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” [Matthew 4:19]

All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had.
[Acts 4:32]

But those who won’t care for their relatives, especially those in their own household, have denied the true faith. [1 Timothy 5:8]

Let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near. [Hebrews 10:25]

Come close to God and God will come close to you. [James 4:8]
