What if God calls you to make choices that the people around you won’t understand because they think it’s not logical? That’s what we are talking about today, what do you do
when God’s plan is not logical?
At the Movies: Many times when we hear/see someone else’s crazy, illogical story it helps us process our own. And that’s what at the movies is all about. Seeing God’s truth played out on the movie screen in a way that helps us process the story God is writing in our life.
3 THINGS YOU CAN DO WHEN GOD’S PLAN ISN’T LOGICAL:
1 Samuel 17:32-37
1. Don’t listen to critics. God is calling you to make choices that the
people around you won’t understand because it’s not logical to them!
1 Samuel 17:37
David’s identity didn’t come from what others thought of
him, it came from God, and his faith (confidence) didn’t
come from his accomplishments, it came from God’s
track record of faithfulness.
Don’t listen to critics BUT get WISE counsel.
1 Samuel 17:38-39
2. Be yourself.
Saul thought for David to succeed he needed to be
someone different. More like Saul and less like himself.
1 Samuel 17:40
3. Do what you know/do what your passionate
about/ what are you good at.
Every single Christ follower is called to make
a difference. And for most of you, that doesn’t
mean working in a church. Your greatest impact
might be exactly where you are working with and
the people around you.
God wants to use what you’re good at,
what you’re passionate about to make a
difference.
God has something big planned for you.
Whatever you have dreamed up for your life, God has a bigger dream.
Application:
To begin this journey with God you have to
going all-in on what he has for you.
Some of us have been dipping our toes in the water but
haven’t jumped all in yet. You are more like David’s
brothers sitting in fear will David charged the giant!!!! I
know YOU charging the giant doesn’t make sense but
with God you can.
obstacle keeping you on the sidelines.
