If you knew that you only had a few more weeks to live, what would you choose to do differently in the next 4 weeks. What kind of regrets would you have and what changes would you choose to make in your life? Those are probably not very hard questions for us to answer, but the scary part of all this is that none of us know what day will be our last. All of us would live differently if we knew, but because we don’t know, we often live our lives like we will all live until we are 80. In this week’s teaching, Pastor Sean talks about an event in the last days that will take place where Jesus will return and bring those who have put their faith, hope, and confidence in Him to be with Himself. At that time, there will be no more time for do-overs, or chances for us to re-arrange our lives.

MESSAGE NOTES

If the end was 4 weeks away, what would you do differently in your life?

We all long for a world free from death and evil.

Oftentimes, we blame God for the evil and disfunction that we see in the world, but God had nothing to do with that. We were the ones who brought evil, sin, and disobedience into the world.

God has specific instructions on how His kids are supposed to live.

  • In each church, there are those who hear and obey and those who don’t.

RAPTURE – (harpazo ˆ”caught up”, raeptius “taken away”.)

  • Revelation 4:1 – Voice like a trumpet blast. “Come up here, and I will shoe you what must happen after this.”

  • 1 Corinthians 15:51-58 – Trumpet raises the dead, the living transformed, and death loses its sting.

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 Trumpet announces Jesus coming, dead in Christ rise first, living caught up to meet in the air, with Jesus from then on.

  • John 14:1-3 – I go to prepare a place, I will come and get you when it’s ready.

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:1-10 – Pay attention to your life and be ready. (This is NOT to be confused with the Coming of the Lord or the “resurrection of the dead” for final judgement.

  • 1 John 2:28 – “And now dear children remain in fellowship with Christ to that when he returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame”.

JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST

2 Corinthians 5:5-10

1 Corinthians 3:10-15

  • There is a separate judgement for the believer.
  • Judged on what is left after fire, not on bad. (Romans 8:1-9).

*Note – Rev 19:7-8 refers to the marriage feast of the lamb and the church is referred to as the Bride. This happens before the Battle of Armageddon and the 1,000 year reign.

THRONE ROOM OF GOD

Revelation 4:2-5 – Diamonds and Rubies with an emerald glow.

Revelation 5:1-14 –

  • Scroll in the right hand of the one on the throne
  • Seven seals indicates a Roman will and deed
  • No one was worthy (Romans 3:10-12)
  • The LAMB steps up to take the deed to Earth.

APPLICATION:

  • If Jesus were to show up right now and call you to give an account of your life, would you be happy with where your life is?
  • If you were to sit down with God, what is the first thing he’d tell you needed to be set right?
  • What will you do this week to get that taken care of?
  • Recognizing that time is a limited commodity, what two friends would be separated from God that you need to pray for?
