I’m pretty sure that most everyone would say that they want to be successful. There seems to be an inner burning desire in us all to be good at something. Some things people seem to be born good at, but other thing, we have to work really hard to be good at. But what does success actually look like? What kind of success is worth chasing after. In the second week our this series, Life Hacks, Pastor Sean takes a look at what the book of Proverbs says about success and what our role in it is.   1. Write Out Goals In Pencil

Proverbs 21:5 Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.

2. Get Wise Counsel

Proverbs 15:22 Plans go wrong for lack of advice; many advisers bring success.

Proverbs 14:7 Stay away from fools, for you won’t find knowledge on their lips.

3. Put First Things First

Proverbs 20:4 Those too lazy to plow in the right season will have no food at the harvest.

4. Stop, Look, and Listen

Proverbs 21:5 Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.

5. Work Hard, But Not Too Hard

Proverbs 22:29 Do you see any truly competent workers? They will serve kings rather than working for ordinary people.

Proverbs 23:4-5 Don’t wear yourself out trying to get rich. Be wise enough to know when to quit. In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle.

6. Do It For God’s Glory

Proverbs 16:3 Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.
