Christianity and the Resurrection of Jesus both stand and fall together. One of them can’t be true and the other be false. In fact, the Bible in 1 Corinthians 15:14-19 says that if Jesus did not raise from the dead, then our faith it useless. It’s worth nothing and there is no point. But if Jesus DID come back to life, it changes everything. So how as a rational, thinking adult in the 21st century justify that someone over 2,000 years ago came back from the dead. In this message, Pastor Sean gives 3 reasons why it’s completely rational to accept Jesus coming back from the dead.

MESSAGE NOTES

1 Corinthians 15:14-19

And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless.15 And we apostles would all be lying about God—for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can’t be true if there is no resurrection of the dead. 16 And if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. 18 In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! 19 And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world.

How We Can Know The resurrection Happened.

  1. The story the disciples told.
  2. The lives that were radically changed after.
  3. The 17 other ancient, extra-Biblical documents that attest to the resurrection of Jesus.

Why Does It Matter?

  1. If Jesus rose from the dead, then He’s different than every other religious leader. Then He is who He said He is and He is the only way to God.
  2. We are born dead in our sin.
  3. Jesus’ death killed sin’s power in our hearts but His new life is what gives us the ability to live for God.
