FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM MY REGULAR OFFERING?

The weekly offering is the proportional amount (1 Cor. 16, 2 Cor. 8, 1 Tim. 6) we give back to God through our local church family. However, there were many times in the Bible when God’s people gave sacrificially, above and beyond their regular giving, to start churches and meet specific needs in the church and among the poor (Acts 2, Eph. 4, Heb. 13). The Hope Project is our version of this biblical, Christian practice.

WHEN SHOULD I GIVE?

You can give a one-time large gift or set up recurring gifts for the year online anytime between now and Grace January 31, 2022.

WHAT IF I WANT TO GIVE TO THE HOPE PROJECT REGULARLY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR?

You can set up automated gifts online that recur weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I GIVE?

The amount you give is between you and God. It is one of the ways we demonstrate our dependence on God. While the regular offering is a percentage of our income, the Hope Project offering is your “I am excited to give this and it comes from the bottom of my heart!” offering.

FROM THE LEAD PASTOR

Dear Grace Church,

You have no idea how proud I am to be a part of this church family! In the middle of the most difficult year of our lives, we were able to do more for the Kingdom of God than we ever have! I am blown away by the radical generosity of our church, especially toward our Hope Project partners!

Over the last 12 months, you gave more than $320,453 to the Hope Project. That’s an incredible $81,908 more than the previous year! You can imagine how surprised and grateful our partners were to find out that we were going to do more for them than we had planned. I can’t wait to see what will happen next year.

Look through this Hope Project brochure and familiarize yourself with our mission partners. Pray over them. Ask God to bless them and others through them. See if your heart doesn’t begin to connect with one or more of our partners. Commit yourself to praying for them regularly and ask God for an idea on how you can be a blessing even beyond your financial support.

We play a part in changing lives through our financial generosity and prayer cover. Ask God to put a number in your head that would stretch you financially. Commit yourself to giving a large, one-time gift any weekend through January 31, 2022. Then consider how you may be able to increase your generosity throughout the year by setting up recurring giving online.

I’m excited to see how we may do even more next year than we dreamed possible! As always, I’m grateful to be your lead pastor and thank God for the opportunity to make a difference in the world with you!

May God bless us and help us become a blessing to others,

Sean Sears
